ABOUT EAST MISSISSIPPI FOOTHILLS LAND TRUST
|
MISSION: The East Mississippi Foothills Land Trust's mission is to conserve, promote, and protect the open spaces and green places of ecological, cultural or scenic significance in East Mississippi.
The East Mississippi Foothills Land Trust is taking steps to preserve our wonderful Mississippi resources for future generations. The key to successful preservation is working with landowners to preserve the streamside habitat, diverse wildlife, and quality of the waterways.
Landowners play a vital role in the success of the East Mississippi Foothills Land Trust. If you are a landowner and are interested in the long-term protection of your land, then a conservation easement may be for you.
Conservation easements can be tailored to fit your specific needs and can result in significant tax benefits.
What is a conservation easement?
“Having a tool like a conservation easement allows us to still be able to use and enjoy our property, allow worthwhile public use of those lands, while at the same time ensuring its long-term protection for generations to come.”
— Tim Myrick, Shady Valley, Tennessee (from the Nature Conservancy)
